Ronaldo's Historical Record

Once again, the headline maker just couldn't keep himself away from creating new records and making headlines in every match whenever he puts his jersey on.

Soon after registering as a Manchester United Player, Cristiano Ronaldo created the record of scoring Most International Goals in Football - 111. Earlier, Ronaldo shared the record with a former Iranian International Ali Daei, who scored 109 goals in his International career between 1993 and 2006 for Iran. Ronaldo matches Daei’s goal tally of 109 by scoring goals against France in the EURO 2020.

Cristiano Ronaldo also played a match winning role against the Republic of Ireland on 1st September 2021. Being denied by Irish Goalkeeper Bazunu from the penalty spot at 15th minute of the game, Portugal saw themselves in trouble when Ireland took the lead in the match from the corner kick just before the half time.

Struggling the whole second half, Irish defenders put Portugal away from the net till 88th Minute.

The Irish wall of defence finally penetrated by Cristiano Ronaldo’s header from Goncalo Guedes’ cross at the 89th minute to give Portugal an equaliser and power to fight.

The Most Enthralling Moment of the Match was knocking on the door and it eventually came when Jao Mario’s cross was spectacularly headed behind the back of the net by Cristiano Ronaldo at the 90+5th minute of the game to give Portugal a decisive Win. What a Moment it was!!

With that late winner, the Portuguese superstar raised his Goal tally to 111.

This is far from Ronaldo’s first time lifting the silverware or creating Guinness World Records.

With 134 strikes, CR7 also holds the title for most Champions League goals, as well as most goals in a UEFA Champions League season by an individual (17) and most goals scored in the UEFA European Championships including qualifying matches (23).

He holds the record for most followers for an athlete on Twitter as well as most followers on Instagram for an athlete. His Instagram account, @cristiano, is also the overall most followed account on Instagram.

As a legend of football, Portuguese Superstar’s Wikipedia page has had 112,000,000 views, the most viewed Wikipedia page for an athlete.
