The result, which leaves the Blues in 11th place in the table, seventh points behind Champions league places, was a huge disappointment for Frank Lampard’s team. The game began with Chelsea seemingly in control. The opening exchanges of a poor first half were dominated by a flurry of corners - 12 within the first 25 minutes - but there was still little goalmouth action. However, it was Wolves who took the lead in the 31th minute, with M. Nunes scoring a superb goal from the edge of the box.
