BARCELONA EXTENDS THEIR LEAD TO 15 POINTS AT THE TOP

Barcelona continued their push towards the La Liga title with a comfortable victory over Elche.

With the absence of Dembele, Pedri, and Raphinha, Xavi made some unique changes in the lineup. Garcia started as the pivot in CDM with Gavi and Roberto. Araujo, Alonso, Alba, and Kounde are in the defense and Lewandowski, Fati, and Ferran are in the attack.

Elche made a bright start but soon reverted to backtracking and sitting deep. In the 20th minute, Barcelona opened the scoreline when Araujo rose to head a free-kick from Alba to Lewandowski who then steered a close range into the bottom left corner.
Lewandowski got the chance to double the lead when he received the cross but he sent the ball over the bar. In the second half, Elche had the chance to equalize but their midfielder stumbled and missed the chance to fire at goal. In the 56th minute, Fati doubled the lead with a shot from outside the area into the back of the net.
Ten minutes later, Gavi pressured the opposition and won the ball before releasing Lewandowski to score his second goal of the match.

Torres then made it 4 when he received the ball from Lewandowski, cut inside and curled his shot into the bottom left corner to allow him to bury the game. Ferran Torres capped off a superb individual performance by drilling home his first La Liga goal since October 2022. The 23-year-old put in the sort of display that will undoubtedly give him confidence going forward in a Blauagrana shirt.

Why has Italy won the World Cup the most amongst European nations?

Let me tell you , Germany now has the same number of world cups as that of Italy. But yes, When it comes to major achievements in the international arenas, no nation has won as much as the Mediterranean country. So what is the secret behind this success? Madonna once famously flaunted a slogan T-Shirt with the caption: "Italians do it better". And while the Princess of Pop was suggestively alluding to another physically popular pastime, she could just as well have been referring to soccer. Tactical Supremacy On a purely footballing level, there is little doubt that Italy’s tactical supremacy has been a key weapon.Whether it be Helenio Herrera’s Catenaccio, Sacchi’s total pressing or Luciano Spalletti’s ‘False 9’, the peninsula has long been at the forefront of strategic innovation. There is a unique obsession with tactics in Italy. Its importance is drilled into children from a young age and Jose Mourinho once amusingly remarked that “everyone in Italy thinks they...
