Ronald Koeman: Time’s Up?

After two back-to-back abysmal performances, Ronald Koeman’s future in his position as Manager of FC Barcelona has received plenty of speculation. Many fans believe it’s time for the club legend to exit the club and for a fresh face to step in. Barcelona faced off against Bayern Munich in the Champions League last week for the first time since the humiliating 8-2 loss in August 2020. The match wasn’t very different this time around with Bayern Munich clearly the strongest of the two sides and earning themselves a well deserved 3-0 victory against the Catalan club, who didn’t even register a single shot on target. All twenty teams have been in the action over the past few days heading into a busy period in LaLiga with a full midweek fixture list. It didn’t look like it was going to be, but it ended up an excellent for viewer's!  It was a weekend where a number of centre-backs put in impressive displays. Lionel Messi's Hat-trick breaks Pele's South American goalscoring record

Lionel Messi has scored his 79th international career goal for Argentina, surpassing the South American men's record held by Brazil legend Pele.       ( Picture: @Ankurmessi_ / twitter)  Messi scored all three goals in Argentina's3-0 win over Bolivia on Thursday in a World Cup qualifying match at the Monumental stadium in Buenos Aires, giving him two more than Pele, who had 77 career goals in international play. Ronaldo gets his Iconic No. 7 jersey

Cristiano Ronaldo will wear the iconic No 7 jersey again at Manchester United; Ronaldo reclaims the number from Edinson Cavani, who has been wearing it since his arrival. Cavani will take No 21 jersey.  Since the departure of Daniel James to Leeds United on the Deadline Day, Manchester United have been given permission by the Premier League for Cavani to take James' vacant No 21 jersey, with Cristiano Ronaldo reclaiming the No 7 shirt from Cavani. Ronaldo expressed his gratitude towards Cavani: "I wasn't sure if it would be possible to have the number seven shirt again. So I would like to say a huge thank you to Edi for this incredible gesture." Earlier, Ronaldo shared the record with a former Iranian International Ali Daei, who scored 109 goals in his International career between 1993 and 2006 for Iran.
