Bayern Munich VS Fc Barcelona Match Preview

Bayern Munich host FC Barcelona in their final group stage match of the Champions League, and it’s a defining match for the European hopes of Xavi’s side.

Should Benfica beat Dynamo Kyiv, who are without a win in the group stage so far, Barcelona will have to secure all three points against Bayern, or they will drop down into the Europa League.

There is no such stress for Julian Nagelsmann and his men. Five wins from five means they are already safely through, and after cruising past the Spanish side at the Nou Camp, they will be confident of doing so again at home.

Bayern Munich vs Barcelona Preview

Bayern Munich are at the top of the Bundesliga standings at the moment and have also topped their Champions League group. The Bavarian giants edged arch-rivals Borussia Dortmund to a crucial 3-2 victory in their previous game and are likely to rest some of their key players on Wednesday.

Barcelona, on the other hand, have endured a difficult campaign so far and will need a victory against Bayern Munich to assure themselves a place in the Round of 16. The Blaugrana were stunned by Real Betis over the weekend and cannot afford another debacle in this fixture.

Xavi’s start as the head coach didn’t bring any changes, but at least the youngsters from the youth academy are playing in the lineup, and the former captain is trying to set the foundations for the future.

By the way, in the past five head-to-head events, Bayern won four times and Barcelona only once.

Prediction:

Bayern Munich 3- 1 FC Barcelona
